Smilebox Toolbar

The Smilebox Toolbar is an add-on for your browser that offers MyStart search (powered by Google), Internet radio, weather, and more.

If you would like to uninstall it, please follow the instructions below for your web browser and version of Windows.

Internet Explorer

Windows XP

Please do the following:

  1. Click the Windows 'Start' menu, then 'Settings' and finally 'Control Panel' (marked below in red).
  2. Please find and click 'Add or Remove Programs'.
  3. Find 'Smilebox Toolbar' in the list, select it, and then click the 'Remove' button.

Windows Vista

Please do the following:

  1. Click the Windows 'Start' menu (marked below in red) and then 'Control Panel' (marked in blue).

  2. Now click 'Programs' and then 'Programs and Features'.
  3. Find 'Smilebox Toolbar' in the list, select it, and then click the 'Uninstall' button.

Windows 7

Please do the following:

  1. Click the Windows 'Start' menu (marked below in red) and then 'Control Panel' (marked in blue).
  2. Under 'Programs', click 'Uninstall a program'.
  3. In the 'Programs and Features' window, find 'Smilebox Toolbar' in the list, select it, and then click 'Uninstall'.

 

Firefox

Please do the following:

  1. In Firefox, please click the 'Tools' menu (marked below in red) and choose 'Add-ons' (marked in blue).
  2. Now click the 'Extensions' tab (marked in red), find 'Smilebox Toolbar' and click 'Remove' (marked in blue).
  3. Once you're finished, click 'Restart now' in the 'Add-ons Manager' dialog. Firefox will restart and the Toolbar will be removed.

 

MyStart by Smilebox

When installing Smilebox, the option is given to use MyStart as the web browser's homepage and default search provider. MyStart works in partnership with Google; for searches done from MyStart, Google shows the search results and pays Smilebox a commission. This revenue helps to support the development of new Smilebox designs and features.

Using MyStart is an easy way for you to help us develop products without paying a dime.

To change your browser's homepage and default search provider to something other than MyStart, please follow the instructions below for your web browser:

 

Internet Explorer

Changing your homepage from MyStart:

  1. First, open Internet Explorer and search for the page you want to use as a homepage.
  2. When the page opens, click 'Tools' in the menu bar, and select 'Internet Options' (marked in red).
  3. In the dialog that opens, type in the website you'd like to use as your homepage. Or click 'Use current' to set it to your current homepage (marked in red). Then click 'OK' (marked in red).
  4. You have now changed your homepage.

Changing your default search provider from MyStart:

  1. Open Internet Explorer, click on the small arrow in the top right corner of the browser (marked in red), and then click on 'Manage Search Providers' (marked in red).
  2. In the 'Manage Add-ons' window, you will see search providers (marked in red).
  3. Select your preferred search provider, click 'Set as default' (marked in red), and then click 'Close'.
  4. You have now changed your default search provider.

 

Firefox

Changing your homepage from MyStart:

  1. First, open Firefox and search for the page you want to use as a homepage.
  2. When the page opens, click 'Tools' in the menu bar, and select 'Options' (marked in red).
  3. In the dialog that opens, type in the website you'd like to use as your homepage. Or click 'Use current' to set it to your current homepage (marked in red). Then click 'OK' (marked in red).
  4. You have now changed your homepage.

Changing your default search provider from MyStart:

  1. Open Mozilla Firefox and click on the small arrow in the top right of the browser (marked in red). Click on your preferred search provider.
  2. You have now changed your default search provider.

 

Google Chrome

Changing your homepage from MyStart:

  1. Open Google Chrome, click on the wrench icon (marked in red) in the top right corner, and select Options (marked in red).
  2. In the 'Basics' tab, select 'Open this page' in the 'Homepage' section (marked in red). Type the web address of the page you want to use as your homepage, and then click 'Close'.
  3. You have now changed your homepage.

Changing your default search provider from MyStart:

  1. Open Google Chrome, click on the wrench icon (marked in red) in the top right corner, and select Options (marked in red).
  2. In the 'Basics' tab, click on the drop-down menu in the 'Default search' section (marked in red). Click on your preferred search provider, and then click 'Close'.
  3. You have now changed your default search provider.
